The Basketball Court at Night
Not a whole lot to report on today. However, I did want to share some photos I took on Thursday evening. The school has a Back to School night each September, about two weeks after school begins. This year, because of Ramadan beginnin on Sept. 1, it was decided that the Back to School night would be postponed until mid-October.

Girls Night Out-Poker Playing Without the Cigars---or is it Uno?
One Very Nice Guy--Mr. Aly with whom I had a great conversation.
So we had our Back to School night on Thursday....What it is......well, it's a chance for kids to get together in the evening to play games, soccer, basketball, and just generally have a great time. The event was from 7-10 p.m. The highlight for many of the older middle school children was the mini-dance from 9-10..The girls really dressed up for the occasion, and a couple of the boys brought changes of clothing, including in one case, a tux.
Both Kris and I spent a couple hours at the event. Kris was helping to supervise the basketball, while I was playing Jengo with some of the kids. A fun time..
On the weather front......well, we've paid our humidity and heat dues during the months of Aug. and Sept. Now, it's payback time....The weather is just about perfect right now, with temps in the mid-70's to mid-80's during the day. Nice breezes coming in from the Med. The long-termers tell us that it will be like this, more or less, until April...Bring it on!!!!!!
No leaves, though, and we do miss the colors that's for sure...
Over and out for this week.
